13U-14U TRAVEL TEAM AFFILIATION PROGRAM

Designed to support current travel teams who are moving up from their current 12U-13U travel seasons to their 13U-14U Fall travel seasons and on to the 2024 13U-14U Spring and Summer travel seasons.

Hammell Baseball will ONLY run teams at the 13U-14U levels. 

Hammell Baseball will not run teams at the 12U level or younger, OR at the 15U level or older. 

The goal of this program is to give coaches with rising 13U-14U teams a support system and flexibility to successfully run their teams and to eventually have the most competitive players develop from the Hammell Baseball 13U-14U program to potentially advance to the Taconic Rangers 16U North Showcase and 17U North Showcase levels that are run by Coach Hammell once they surpass the 14U level and are ready to move on to play at the showcase level.

Each Hammell Baseball 13U-14U travel team will be coached by their current 12U-13U travel coach who is looking to transition to the 13U-14U levels or by a coach who is forming their own new 13U-14U team. The teams will have their own autonomy in setting their league play, tournament play, and practice schedules.

Teams will be referred to as "HAMMELL BASEBALL 13U" and "HAMMELL BASEBALL 14U". The last name of the team's head coach will differentiate any multiple teams at the same age level, (i.e.- HAMMELL BASEBALL 13U WILSON, HAMMELL BASEBALL 13U JONES)

2023 FALL SEASON OUTLINE ($450 per player due before July 1, 2023 to reserve your team's spot in the program. 12 player minimum.)

• The participating 13U-14U teams will be coached by their current 2023 12U-13U coach who is bringing the team to the 13U-14U levels in the Fall of 2023.
• Al Hammell will work with the current coach to assist with roster development, practice structure, and any other coaching logistical needs; but the head coach will ultimately be responsible for the recruiting of the roster, running of the team, and the setting of the fall game/tournament schedules.
• The participating 13U-14U teams will receive 5 Saturday Afternoon 2.5 - hour Field Transition/Team Practice Workouts at the DCC Baseball Field during the fall season ran by current DCC and Taconic Rangers North Showcase Head Coach Al Hammell. (Additional players/recruits can be invited into the Fall Saturday program sessions by the participating teams and by Hammell Baseball to help in identifying, evaluating and choosing their finalized rosters for the 2024 Spring and Summer travel seasons.)
• The Saturday Field Transition/Team Practice Workout Dates for 2023 will be Sept. 9, 16, 23, 30, and Oct 14 in the afternoon hours- Exact times TBD.
• Any weeknight Fall season practices will be run by the participating team's coach at their own secured fields.
• The participating 13U-14U teams will create their own Fall 2023 league and tournament schedules. Recommended-- play in GHVBL league with DH's on Sundays (The DCC baseball field will be made available for 13U-14U fall home games on Sundays.) Any weeknight games would need to be held at fields secured by the participating team's coach. Also, an optional recommendation is for the participating teams to play in 13U-14U tournaments on Labor Day and Columbus Day weekends.  Teams could also add an additional tournament at the end of October to serve as a culmination of the fall season as well if they want to.
• Each player will be provided a "Hammell Baseball" uniform package for the fall season. (Two "Hammell Baseball" game jerseys, a "Hammell Baseball" game hat, belt, socks.) We will use the Houston Astros "H" logo. Each player will provide their own gray and white baseball pants, batting helmets, catcher's equipment, and any other needed equipment. 
• "Hammell Baseball" will carry the team liability insurance for the fall season.
• Each team's head coach will need to collect separately from families for any league fees/umpire fees/league game balls/tournament fees.
• At the end of the fall season, the spring/summer Hammell Baseball rosters will be set and it will be mutually determined with the participating teams who will remain with "Hammell Baseball" for the 2024 Spring and Summer 13U-14U travel seasons.
