Taconic Rangers North
The Taconic Rangers North travel baseball program is open to players residing in Dutchess/Orange/Ulster/Putnam and all counties to the north.
Our program begins at the 13U level. We do not field any teams at the 8U-12U age groups.
This program begins with the 13U Fall Prospect Program each beginning directly after Labor Day each year.
We field Middle School and High School college development travel and showcase baseball teams at the 13u-17u level.
We work to provide a balanced approach to travel baseball at these level which includes competitive summer travel game play, attendance at college showcase tournaments, summer player development practice sessions, and a Saturday/Sunday Fall Ball player development and evaluation program.
Another important function of our organization is to support the community-based travel baseball structure for area teams ages 8u-12u by offering indoor facility usage for community-based travel baseball programs at this age group. We work to actively support a travel baseball model that promotes a focus on community based travel team participation at the 8u-12u age groups to help our local leagues meet their stated goals while developing community-minded programs.
Our cooperative relationship with Dutchess Community College help us to provide local participating baseball players with all of these opportunities. This includes our pre-season team indoor training program for travel teams, mentorship based indoor/outdoor baseball clinic opportunities, summer instructional camps, and any other logistical support that will work to enhance the community-based and showcase level travel structure.
Our hope is that by promoting this model, we will help to limit the splintering of our local leagues at the youth levels and ultimately increase the overall participation in area youth baseball while strengthening all of our area youth baseball leagues and our scholastic baseball programs.
The Dutchess Baseball Initiative is directed by Dutchess Community College Head Baseball Coach, Al Hammell.
